Jessica Hart, Ph.D.

Dr. Hart is a licensed psychologist and forensic evaluator in both Washington and Oregon and is the founder of Sound Forensics and Consulting. She is also employed as a forensic evaluator with the Washington Office of Forensic Mental Health Services (OFMHS) and with the Oregon State Hospital (OSH) Forensic Evaluation Service. Dr. Hart has experience conducting hundreds of forensic evaluations and has testified as an expert witness in multiple counties of both Oregon and Washington.

Dr. Hart earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University, a program that provided a rigorous foundation in scientific psychology, training and experience in clinical practice and research, and specialty training in forensic evaluations. She matched for doctoral internship at the Oregon State Hospital, where she completed major rotations in the forensic evaluation service and competency restoration treatment, as well as minor rotations in neuropsychological assessment and CBT for psychosis. Dr. Hart completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Northwest Forensic Institute, a group private practice conducting primarily criminal forensic evaluations. In addition to receiving specialized training and didactics in forensic psychology, she was supervised in conducting evaluations of fitness to proceed, mental state at the time of the offense, violence risk, psychosexual, and mitigation referral questions, among others.

In addition to her clinical training and expertise, Dr. Hart has experience teaching undergraduate psychology courses (i.e., general, developmental, abnormal, and personality psychology) and has mentored/supervised trainees at the practicum, internship, and postdoctoral levels of training.
